1. What the Site is
Side Margin publishes articles on money, home, technology, and other everyday topics. Everything on the Site is general information written for a broad audience. It is not professional advice of any kind.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing on the Site is financial, legal, tax, medical, insurance, or home-repair advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship between you and the Site. Articles describe how things generally work; they cannot account for your personal situation. Before acting on anything you read here, especially anything involving money, contracts, your health, or safety, check the primary sources we link to and, where it matters, speak to a qualified professional. You are responsible for decisions you make based on the Site.
3. Accuracy and updates
We work to keep articles accurate and cite sources for factual claims. Prices, policies, laws, and product features change, and an article reflects what was true on its publication or last-updated date. We correct material errors when we find them and note the correction at the bottom of the article. We do not guarantee that any content is complete, current, or error-free. 4. How articles are produced
Articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, then read, edited, fact-checked against cited sources, and approved by a human editor before publication. Nothing is published automatically. Our About page explains this in more detail.
5. Advertising and affiliate links
The Site is supported by advertising, including ads served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Advertisers do not influence what we write or how we rate anything. Some links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you buy something after clicking, at no extra cost to you. Any article that contains affiliate links says so at the top. 6. Intellectual property
The text, layout, and original graphics on the Site belong to Side Margin unless stated otherwise. You may read, link to, and quote short excerpts of our articles with a credit and a link back to the original page. You may not republish an article in full, scrape the Site, or use our content to train automated systems without written permission. Stock photographs are used under licence from their providers and are credited where they appear; those images remain the property of their photographers.
7. Links to other websites
We link to outside websites so you can check our sources and find further help. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site: no attempts to break into it, overload it, scrape it at scale, inject malicious code, or interfere with the ads or analytics that keep it running. Comments, where enabled, must be civil, on topic, and free of spam or unlawful material. We may remove comments and block access at our discretion.

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Side Margin and its editor are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content, including financial loss, property damage, or injury resulting from following a guide.
